What woke me up was, are we spiritual machines?

The fifth one is that you have to be able to tell whose robot a robot is.

Yeah, I think we will need a new economy.

Welcome to the Machine Ethics Podcast.

The podcast is focused on interviews with academics, authors, business leaders, designers, engineers on the subject of autonomous algorithms, artificial intelligence, machine learning and the technologies impact on society.

The podcast really grew out of my own interest in AI and big data and the impact of automation back in 2015. I created the podcast to hopefully learn more from extremely intelligent people, really hearing and learning myself. Hopefully to help disseminate some of these issues and some of these ideas, learn and hopefully give back a little bit.

So a massive thank you to all my interviewees that have come on these 60 episodes. So thank you very much for your time and energy and all the work that you've been doing.

If you'd like a place to start with the Machine Ethics Podcast, go to episode 18, where we demystify some of the terms and go into some of the technical implementation and ideas surrounding deep neural networks and that sort of thing.

After that, you can explore some of the episode titles by going to machine-ethics.net to work out what kind of thing that you'll be looking for. You don't necessarily have to listen to them all in order. If you yourself have experience in this area, AI ethics, machine ethics, singularity, all this sort of ideas, then please get in contact about some of the things that you've been thinking about, new publications or your research at hello at machine-ethics.net.

If you can, please do support the things that we do on the podcast by going to patreon.com forward slash machine ethics. You can follow us on Twitter at machine underscore ethics or on Instagram at machine ethics podcast. This podcast is produced by myself, Ben Byford, and supported by some guest interviewees. So please do get in contact if you'd like to submit an interview to the podcast. I myself run ethicalby.design, where we do consultation with companies, organizations on subjects that we talk about in the podcast, AI ethics and designing responsible AI projects. If you have a product that you think our audience would like to hear about, then please get in contact about our sponsorship of episodes.

Thank you so much for listening and hope you enjoy it.
